Meet certified Birth & Postpartum Doula Sally Mjama

Hi, I’m Sally — Birth & Postpartum Doula, Sleep Consultant, and Founder of Gentle Hand Doula & Family Services.
Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood is not just my work — it’s my calling. I provide calm, compassionate, and faith-rooted support so mothers feel confident, informed, and deeply cared for during one of the most transformative seasons of their lives.
I’m married to my husband William, and we’re raising our two daughters in a family beautifully woven from Kenyan, Portuguese, and Canadian roots — a blend of cultures, faith, and strong family values that deeply influences the way I care for others.
My Christian faith is the foundation of how I care for others. It guides me to support families with love, gentleness, prayer when welcomed, and a deep belief in the strength and design of a woman’s body.
I hold a Bachelor in Health Studies from York University and am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through Doula Training School Canada. My additional training includes Spinning Babies®, Postpartum Nutrition Certification, and advanced Rebozo for Birth techniques with mexican midwife Naoli Vinaver, including:
• Correcting & adjusting fetal position with Rebozo
• Stimulating & engaging baby with Rebozo
• Unblocking & loosening the pelvis and soft tissues with Rebozo
These tools allow me to support both the physical and emotional aspects of pregnancy, birth, and recovery in a holistic, body-aware way.
I’ve had the privilege of supporting more than 150 families through birth and postpartum transitions. Each experience has strengthened my belief that no mother should feel alone, unheard, or unsupported. Birth is not only a physical event — it is emotional, spiritual, and often deeply transformative. My role is to create a space where mothers feel safe, respected, and empowered to make decisions that align with their bodies, their babies, and their values.
In addition to doula care, I am also a Certified Sleep Consultant through Peaceful Sleeper Academy, helping exhausted parents find gentle, realistic sleep solutions that work for their family. As a Doula Mentor, I’m passionate about supporting and guiding new doulas as they grow in skill and confidence in their own birth work journeys.
Families often describe my presence as calming, nurturing, and reassuring — like having a steady hand to hold when things feel overwhelming. Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating postpartum recovery, or needing sleep support, I am here to walk alongside you with practical help, encouragement, and compassionate care.
It is truly an honor to be invited into such sacred moments. I would love to support your family’s journey.
Meet Birth & Postpartum Doula (certifying)
Lynzee Hildebrand

I’m Lynzee - born and raised in Alberta, married to my wonderful husband, and blessed to be a proud mama to two beautiful boys.
When my first son was four months old, I felt a deep calling to change careers and pursue becoming a Birth & Postpartum Doula. My own birth experience was an induction with a medicated delivery that resulted in tearing and an episiotomy. During labor, I often felt unheard and undervalued as a mother. After birth, we faced breastfeeding challenges when we discovered my son was tongue-tied. While it wasn’t an easy journey, we were able to overcome those hurdles and successfully breastfeed, an experience that shaped my heart for this work.
My second birth was truly beautiful. Supported by a midwife and Sally as my doula, I laboured at home with plans for a home birth, and although we ultimately welcomed him in the hospital, the experience was empowering and deeply healing. He was also tongue-tied, but having it released right away made a world of difference in our breastfeeding journey.
Now, as a mom of two under two, my passion for postpartum work has never felt stronger. I know the transition. I know the exhaustion, the emotions, the questions, and the moments that feel heavy and overwhelming. I also know how deeply powerful this season can be when you’re supported. If you need someone to lean on, talk with, and feel truly seen by - I’m your girl. I want to be a safe place for you in this season.
My heart is to ensure every mother feels heard, valued, and empowered. I’m passionate about providing the education and support needed for a successful breastfeeding journey and helping families navigate birth and postpartum with confidence, care, and compassion.
Meet CERTIFIED Birth & Postpartum Doula
Nicola MannerfELDT

Hey, my name is Nicola and I want to tell you who I am and how I came into the world of being a Doula. In 2020/2021 I started asking myself the question “what do I want to do? What am I passionate about?” I started searching how I can help moms & families in labour, delivery and postpartum. I knew what a Doula was but didn’t know what training I needed to be successful. After diving into the idea deeper I went and completed my training through DONA international. I became the woman behind Blessed Beginnings Doula Services.A few months after completing the course I found out I was pregnant with our first baby. Which was just the start! 3 babies in just over 3 years.
My birth stories are all different, each unique. I have experienced induction at 37 weeks with a 3 day labour. I have experienced a home birth where I trusted my body to do what it was made to do and I have experienced birth where the plan didn’t quite go to “plan” and had a fast, quick and intense hospital birth with a midwife. After trying to balance being a new mom, a doula and wife I realized I needed to take some time for our family before really, truly and whole heartedly knowing I could be the best doula I could be for the moms that needed me. So that’s is what I did! Two beautiful girls and a handsome little boy later and our family feels complete. I know without a doubt being a Doula is still my passion. And now here we are, we are reading a little introduction on who I am, under the guidance, mentorship and partnership of an amazing woman.I am a woman that believes wholeheartedly woman deserves the birth story they have always dreamt of. Those stories that you’ve have heard can happen, but don’t believe can happen for you. Those stories where the room was filled with peace, joy and support and something truly explainable.I am a woman that used to be the little girl that sat with the moms and their babies hoping one day I could stand witness to what went on in those rooms. In those quiet moments that change a person for the rest of their lives.I started my journey to help and support moms. And since starting I have learnt, grown and experienced birth and all that it entails. Now more than ever I am ready and eager to help you grow into motherhood and let me just start by saying, what an honour and privilege it will be to witness.
